About

Michael Lepore is an actor, singer, songwriter, computer geek and avid Star Wars enthusiast from Trumbull, CT. He is a graduate of Hofstra University with a BA in Drama, a minor in Musical Theatre and an additional BA in Computer Science to keep him unreasonably busy.

He began piano lessons as the age of four and began theater performance at a young age. He would later pick up guitar and join the Trumbull Youth Association, performing in their summer shows, alongside high school productions throughout the year.

In 2014, the THS Thespians appeared in the National Coalition Against Censorship's list of the top 40 defenders of free speech in 2014, at number three, for their defense of their High School's production of RENT: School Edition (Article).

He was awarded three Connecticut High School Musical Theatre Awards (now known as the Sondheim Awards) for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2014 and 2015 for his performances in RENT: School Edition and Hello, Dolly!, and in 2016 for Outstanding Leading Actor in How To Succeed, for which he was invited to perform at the National High School Musical Theatre Awards (Jimmy Awards).

Later that year, Michael began his education at Hofstra University, and was accepted into the Musical Theatre minor. He was the Historian of Alpha Psi Omega, the Drama Honors Fraternity, and the Treasurer of Masquerade Musical Theater Co, the student run musical theatre club on campus. He co-directed their Spring 2018 mainstage production of American Idiot, as well as their Fall 2018 shadowcast of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, while pursuing his theater education through both Hofstra's mainstage and student repertory theaters.

He made his NYC theatre debut in the summer of 2018 at Dixon Place as Henry in Bright and Brave: A New Musical, and the next year appeared at The Irondale Center in Spring Awakening.

Michael has also been an active member of the Connecticut theatre community. He spent the summer of 2018 with the New Paradigm Theatre, as their production intern and assistant to the Emmy and Grammy award winning musical director Paul Bogaev as a rehearsal pianist. He has also appeared in productions with the Downtown Cabaret Theatre, as well as Fairfield Center Stage and Valley Shakespeare Festival.

Michael is also active in the CT Indie scene, and has recently collaborated with Comfy Cozy and Waking Up Now. (Streaming on Spotify). His debut single, Tongue Twisted, is streaming now on all major platforms. He has also produced the great majority of the work of NY artist Teddy Grey, providing multi-instrumental arrangements and session instrumentation on his tracks (piano, bass, electric/acoustic guitar, banjo, ukulele, drums, synth/organ, harmonica, vocals, assorted percussion) . He is currently producing Teddy Grey's sophomore album, The Great Failed Romances of the 20th Century, a double album releasing on NYC based label Mother West in 2021.

He will appear as an offstage cover in Sing Street on Broadway, opening at a Shubert Theatre in Winter 2021/Spring 2022.
